CREATE A PURE HEART IN ME, O GOD, AND PUT A NEW AND LOYAL SPIRIT IN ME!

PSALM  51 : 10

John 7 : 63

Monday 12 th                             Philippians 2 : 2 – 6

Like Christ   One of the desires of the heart of our Lord is that we should have the attitude that He had. He had the nature of God Himself, yet never thought that He should use force to remain equal with God. Jesus gave up His free will, became one like us and lived among us. Our Lord became human and came to earth to live a life just like our own. He experienced all the emotions that we do, all the pain and suffering that faces us as well as the joy we have through interaction and loving kindness of others. Jesus was obedient to God our Father, and obeyed Him in every instance. We need to be like our Lord, to be loving, kind and obedient to God’s will for our lives. If we live like Christ we bring joy to God, our Father. Give thanks for the privilege of being called the children of God Almighty. Praise and thanks to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Tuesday 13 th April               Psalm 141 : 1 – 10

Compliments   We all like to receive compliments. They boost our self-esteem, and make us feel good about ourselves. Yet we must be wary of compliments, for some use them to make an impression on the one they are complimenting. We have an inbuilt to recognize when folk are being honest, or just using the words to achieve their own ends. God will give us the insight into a person’s words. Let us be wary of accepting every compliment given. Ask God to help you to discern the honesty of people’s compliment. Don’t let others use you to achieve their own ends, God will give you insight into the honesty of others, so that you will know whether the compliments are true or false. Give thanks to God for insight onto people’s hidden motives and be wary of compliments too easily given.

Wednesday 14 th April            John 17 : 4 – 5

Completed work   When Jesus finished al that God has sent Him to do, He asked God for Glory in His presence. This is God’s promise to us all. Jesus has shown us the way and the reward for constant fulfilling labour! If we come before the Lord with the ability to say, “I have done what you asked me to do; may I now receive the glory You promised!” this makes us look at our lives and the work that God has given us to do. Have we worked with body, soul and spirit to fulfil the work God has given us to do? Have we worked at the task that God has given us to complete? If we have done our best, despite all the difficulties and setbacks, we can be sure that God will know and will be ready to accept us with the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant! Welcome to your rest!” Work diligently at the task God has given you and give Him the glory for a completed work. God will give the Glory! Praise God!

Thursday 15 th April             Romans 7 : 14 – 25

Conflict!   The human mind is a strange and difficult area to understand. So often we desire to do something and end up doing the opposite. We don’t seem to be able to control our thoughts – which leads us into areas where we would rather not go. Even Paul experienced such feelings and this conflict of the mind is common to us all. We strive to be good, and pure, and true to God’s teachings, but so often slip and fall into the wrong thing, and behaviour. Then we cry out to the Lord, “Deliver us from this abomination!” praise God He does deliver us! He sends His Holy Spirit to fill our minds with what is pure and true and soon we find that we are calm once more, and can go forward as Christ’s own with no conflict in us. Give thanks to God for the peace and joy that He sends to fill our minds!

Friday 16 th  April                  Matthew 5 : 6

What God requires!   What is the greatest longing of your heart? Is it for a happy marriage, good health, satisfying work, a wonderful overseas holiday?? These are all good desires, but one that will please God and bring quiet peace and joy to your heart is the desire to do what God requires. Ask God what He wants from you! He will tell you and it’s up to you to do your best in whatever task that is.  Have you a task that you feel is God-given? Does the thought of doing that task give you a deep contentment? Start as you mean to go on. Performing that task will bring joy to our Father’s heart and pride to yourself. Work for the Lord! It may not be an earth-shattering task, but everyone working for the Lord will bring satisfaction and joy! God knows just what is suited to your skills and personality. Give Him honour through your faithful service in the task He has given you!!

Saturday  17 th April             Romans 12 : 12

Be filled with joy!   This verse states, “Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.” It is a saying we should keep in our hearts, for then we will be able to face the world with confidence. Hope is an uplifting emotion, one which is desperately needed as the world faces this virus that is causing so much death and despair. 6patience too is valuable. We cannot hurry the passing of this time. The virus has to run its course. Trust God to care for you in the midst of this time. Be filled with joy, for our God is ever faithful and true, and will always be by our side through thick and thin. Let your prayers of thankfulness and praise rise up before our Lord and our God. He is ever faithful and will care for His own in all circumstances. Be filled with joy as the love of the Lord flows over you and into your anxious heart – to bring peace and joy at all times. Trust Him in all things!!

Sunday  18 th April

Bless the Lord, o my soul! Let all that is within me praise His Holy Name. We lift our voices in hymns of praise and thanksgiving. For our Lord, our God is faithful and true, and pours out blessings upon His own. Give thanks to the Lord. He knows what is required and sends His angels to comfort us in or time of trial. We are truly blessed by the Lord, for He knows our hearts and helps us to raise our voices in hymns of praise and thanksgiving. Day by day God watches over us and takes care of us. We do not know what has been against us, for God takes care of the issue before it happens to us. We praise Him now and always, for He is our Father and our Lord. Thank You Lord, for Your grace and favour! Praise the Lord, O my souls, let all that is within me praise His Holy Name!
