Church in the Home

Involvement in one of our Churches in the Home is strongly encouraged during this time as we are dealing with Covid-19

It is vital for personal growth, individual equipping and Kingdom ministry.

The VISION AND VALUES of the Church in the Home at Church on the Way are :

  • Building of close relationships and integral Christian community.

  • Providing a home for believers and a comfortable introduction for non-believers to the Christian Family and Faith.

  • Providing a safe environment to care for the needs of people.

  • Creating a way for believers to live out their faith in a community and family.

  • Focusing on participant prayer for one another.

  • Creating a safe environment of acceptance, openness and safety.

  • Providing for mutual edification among believers.

  • Smaller groups encourage better learning of the Word of God.

  • Smaller groups provides a source of encouragement and accountability.

  • Creating an atmosphere that cultivates leadership within the Church Family.

  • Providing a place to worship the Lord in spirit and truth

  • Giving opportunity to be generous to the Lord through tithes and offerings

  • A place to facilitate the breaking of bread to remember the Lord Jesus for who He is, for all He has done for us and continues to do for us.

Guideline for Sanitation & Health Precautions

Good sanitisation and health precautions need to take place for the Church to be meeting in public gatherings in whatever context.

  • Safe greetings
    • Avoid physical contact when greeting.
    • There must be no shaking of hands, hugging or kissing. Rather apply safe greetings of a wave, a nod or a bow.
  • Safe attendance of gatherings
    • If you are sick or have any symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing), do not come to the gatherings but rather isolate yourself.
    • Call for the elders to anoint you with oil.

James 5:14–15 (NKJV)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

    • Consult your medical practitioner telephonically
  • On entering any public facility, hands need to be sanitised or washed with soap and running water.
    • How to wash and rinse hands thoroughly.
      • Cleanse with sanitiser or
      • Wash with soap and running water – preferable method
      • The whole hand, top, palm and between fingers need to be soaped, rubbed in and rinsed.
      • Dry off with a paper towel, dispose in a closed bin. If no paper towels, drip dry your hands. Towels should not be used to dry your hands.
  • When to wash your hands
    • After coughing or sneezing.
    • When caring for the sick.
    • Before, during and after you prepare food.
    • Before eating.
    • After toilet use.
    • When hands are visibly dirty.
    • After handling animals or animal waste.
  • Protect others from getting sick
    • When coughing or sneezing cover your mouth and nose with a tissue
    • Throw tissue into a closed bin immediately after use.
    • Clean hands with alcohol based hand rub or soap and water after coughing or sneezing.
    • Avoid contact when you are experiencing cough and fever.
    • Avoid spitting in public.
  • If symptoms of fever, cough or difficulty in breathing
    • Seek medical care early.
    • Share previous travel history.
    • Also, contact the elders to come pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord.
